Oct 25, 2009 - We launched today a new website, as well as a new licensing scheme
for our xbasics Ulinzi product. Ulinzi is now free for personal use, which means you
can personally download it and use it for any type of work you need to accomplish. There
is also a commercial license for those who need it available through the xbasics store. In terms of
operation, both versions are identical. They work exactly the same way. Oh, and there
is no annoying registration form to complete! We just want to see more people use this
great product; making their lives easier. Thanks to everyone that's provided comments,
advice, links and everything else in between. Keep them coming and cheers to you all!
July 12, 2009 - xbasics is proud to announce the release of xbasics Ulinzi 1.1.
Among other enhancements, this release includes a new set of application update routines,
and fixes various issues present while exporting/printing templates and projects. A long,
overdue new Security Categorization template reflecting the latest changes and additions
found in NIST SP 800-60, Revision 1 is now included as the default Security Categorization template.
December 28, 2008 - An update to xbasics Ulinzi was just released. This release solves a
sync problem between the Security Categorization and the Security Controls sides, while
working on a Project. It also updates the main application icons, allowing Windows to
better select an appropriate resolution for them.
August 17, 2008 - xbasics announces today the release of the latest version of
xbasics FireHash, version 2.1. This release adds many additional checksum/hash
algorithms, including Tiger and Whirlpool, among others. It also includes some code
clean up and changes to the graphical interface. Note that this application requires
Java 1.6.x or newer for its operation.
July 1, 2008 - Today xbasics Ulinzi 1.0 was released to the public. xbasics

April 18, 2008 - xbasics announced today the first public Beta release of
xbasics Ulinzi as part of the last phase of development before the
release of the application. xbasics believes this is the first product of its
kind directly specializing on NIST-developed FISMA standards and guidelines, and
welcomes users to try it out and providing feedback. Users involved in testing
the application will be rewarded with a free copy of the product once it is released.
February 14, 2008 - A new version of xbasics GlassShot was announced today,
and it is now available for download within the Tools section of the website. xbasics

December 20, 2007 - xbasics announces the release of the latest version of xbasics
FireHash. Version 2.0 is now based on the latest version of Sun Microsystems'
Java Standard Edition and it's able to execute on multiple operating platforms.
It also adds SHA224 to the list of checksums that it is capable of generating.
August 30, 2007 - The first stable version of xbasics Repono is out with
a few added features, including the ability to undo/redo changes and make more precise
searches taking into consideration the exact casing of the searched word/phrase.
July 13, 2007 - xbasics announced today the Beta release of a new free tool, xbasics
Repono. This is the first Java-based tool from xbasics, and it provides
an easy interface to search and replace text strings on pretty much any document
in any platform. It allows the user to search using any type of text string, as
well as regular expressions. It also provides the capability of search and replace
by item or all findings at the same time. Repono is another small tool
developed with the goal simplifying the work of our users.
March 26, 2007 - Today, xbasics, LLC expands its line up of free tools with the
introduction of ClearPing. This tools provides users with a clear, straight-forward
interface for the ping command. The first version of this tool provides users the
ability to specify IP address ranges (e.g. 192.168.1.1-200) and more.
January 12, 2007 - With the start of the new year, xbasics, LLC launches its first
free tools, GlassShot and FireHash. GlassShot is an screen capture
utility that simplifies the process of collecting screen evidence through its ease
of use and functionality. FireHash provides an easy method for generating checksums
using various widely used algorithms. These tools open the new tools section of
the company, where some great tools will be featured free of charge for all our customers.
